1894 – 2006 : DMD, from working outfits to PPE (Personal Protective Equipments)

Designer of the first “coltin” (working jacket), financially independent with French capital since 4 generations, organized as a Group since 1984, DMD is a dynamic company acting throughout the European market of clothes for the working industry.

The development of the company is based on quality focus and high technical level while preserving good value for money.
DMD manages its own specialized design office, several production sites equipped with numerical process control, a logistics platform and, thus, controls the products from design to sales. Our independence is the guarantee of our commitment to quality, competitiveness and service.

In early 2004, SONODOC was merged into DMD France. SONODOC lines of products are now part of DMD price list with the same guarantee and service as the other Ideal lines.
In order to expand its PPE collection, DMD took over majority shares from EDC company, a French manufacturer of heat resistant clothes.

The development of PPE has been strengthened by using new materials and opening up new markets in compliance with safety regulations.

Being registered to the quality standard ISO 9001 version 2000, DMD is able to deliver from stock (300.000 articles at the logistics platform in Lyon-Genay – monthly turnover – restocking within 5 weeks maximum) technical clothes with high quality level and many possibilities of colours, materials and finishing : Ideal and Sonodoc lines of products.
As DMD oversees the whole production process, we offer the same level of service for made-to-measure prestige wear : Styl’Pro line of products.

Today, DMD creates and makes the professional workclothing of companies wishing to improve their image.

SONODOC – Garment against cold at DMD standards

In 1999, the DMD Group took over SONODOC in Bedarieux (34), manufacturer of garment against cold and rain using material coating techniques.

This new activity enables DMD to extend its collection with always the same aim of quality and total control of design, production and logistics.

Years 2001-2002 are dedicated to upgrade the SONODOC production site and find-out new international suppliers. From now on, the SONODOC line of products is part of the DMD catalogue and promoted by mutual sales team.

In 2003-2004, quality standards are implemented : The SONODOC line of products became integrated into the technical and sales control system of DMD. Production delays are secured and a stock is available at the DMD wharehouse in Lyon-Genay as the rest of the collection.

Since January 1st, 2005, there is a stock of 45.000 pieces of SONODOC products, available in each model and each size, with the level of quality and service DMD customers are used to.

Today, process control allows to offer the same efficiency in “corporate image” clothes.
